There is a lot of
stuff starting to
happen now that summer is almost here. I attended a very enjoyable festival this past week at the
Peaceful Bend Winery down in the Missouri Ozarks. I'll have to spend some time
describing it but it was great to see all these great "flat pickers" gathered in
one spot. If anyone is interested in hooking up with me in Nashville this
weekend for a private pickin' party, just email me at
johnhotze@sbcglobal.net
or leave me a message in the guestbook here on this site. There will be several
bands including "Bawn In The Mash" pickin' and partying all night
long. I will be leaving for Bean Blossom on June 13th for 8 days bluegrass
and all the jammin around the campground that one could handle.
I'm sure John would be doing
everything he could to help save the Delta Queen. For all of you Hartford fans
please follow this link, do some reading, and than do what your gut tells you to
do.
Save the Delta Queen.
I plan to do some more posting concerning this subject in the near future.
Because next year is an election year, nothing will likely get done unless it's
done this year..
Song of the Day
- posted 5-22-2008 - "Lovin' Pretty Women"
This song is from the Steep Canyon
Rangers latest CD, titled "Lovin'
Pretty Women".
Here is a song that a faithful
Hartford fan was looking for the lyrics. He use to have the LP and wasn't sure
which one it was on. I found the song and actually realized I hadn't ever played
the LP after I purchased it from eBay. Here it Jim. Maybe you can transcribe the
lyrics from "Living
In The Mississippi Valey". By the way, you can find the CD - The
Annual Waltz that this song is on over at johnhartford.org.

John's written liner notes on a Flatt
& Scruggs album
Hotze quotes: "This
site is so dynamic, you're liable to notice a change between bottles of
beer". "This
site is for those who love John, his music, & the music he loved". .....and yes, putting a note in the guest book or dropping
an email to me occasionally about the site, does go a long way towards
energizing me to work harder to provide more music, video, & information. .....Thank you -
