42nd Annual Bill Monroe Bean Blossom Bluegrass Festival
The Seldom Scene
"Rider"
Now all you old
traditionalists like me, lighten up and enjoy these guys. Sure they drifted to
the edge of the table a little bit, but these guys have helped make bluegrass
big in the Northeast over the years. They're a great bunch of guys and put on a
wonderful performance. I hope to see them back at Bean Blossom for many years to
come.

I'll manage to get a few
more videos posted today and this week. I hope you are enjoying them. Just about
the time I catch my breath from Bean Blossom, I have more coming soon. I'll be
going to one in my neck of the woods here in Missouri in a few weeks called
The Back Forty Bluegrass Festival.
I'll get to see my friends,
The Ozark Alliance perform
along with a number of other great acts -
Karl Shiflett & Big Country,
Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper,
David Davis & Warrior River Boys,
James King Band,
Midnight Flight,
Brightwater Junction, and Missouri River Band. Should be great. I can't believe
that four of my favorite bands from Bean Blossom are all appearing at this
smaller festival in my home state of Missouri. After this one, it won't be long
until I'm "Back Home In Indiana" for the Uncle Pen Days Bluegrass festival at
Bean Blossom. If you haven't done so already, I hope everyone visiting my site
will watch the following video -
Bean Blossom Brown County Jamboree
Preservation Foundation, Inc.,
then follow the link and
read about some great history in bluegrass music. If your a serious and
dedicated follower of bluegrass music, I hope that you will consider becoming a
contributor and part owner of
the greatest bluegrass festival on
earth.

John's written liner notes on a Flatt
& Scruggs album
Hotze quotes: "This
site is so dynamic, you're liable to notice a change between bottles of
beer".
"This
site is for those who love John, his music, & the music he loved".
.....and yes, putting a note in the guest book or dropping
an email to me occasionally about the site, does go a long way towards
energizing me to work harder to provide more music, video, & information. .....Thank you -
John Hotze
